ReStory Platforms, Controller Support, and Steam Deck Status

ReStory: Chill Electronics Repairs launched for Windows and Apple-silicon Mac. The store lists partial controller support, and the launch FAQ described the Steam Deck version as Playable, not fully Verified.

Supported platforms

“Partial controller support” means you should not assume every setup, menu, or text-entry step can be completed without another input method. ReStory uses precise object rotation, zoom, small screws, layered parts, and an in-game computer, so keep a mouse/trackpad option available if your controller layout becomes awkward.

Steam Deck expectations

The official pre-launch FAQ used Valve's Playable label and explicitly said full verification was still work in progress. That is the safest current baseline. Older demo impressions reported both successful play and some fiddly small-part interaction, but those measurements predate the finished release and should not be treated as a current performance guarantee.

For a smoother handheld start:

1. Keep the trackpad available for small screws and precise components.
2. Use zoom before trying to select a tiny fastener.
3. Test the in-game computer and any text-entry flow before relying on a controller-only session.
4. Treat community layouts as personal configurations, not official defaults.
