ReStory Tools and Workshop Upgrades

Choose the tool that solves a real workshop bottleneck without relying on unsupported prices.

Table of contents

ReStory begins with simple manual work and expands into specialized repair, cleaning, customization, recycling, and software-style actions. The confirmed tools below come from the released feature set and public achievement requirements; exact prices and unlock order are intentionally omitted where they are not repeatably verified.

Starter bench tools

Screwdriver

The basic repair loop depends on removing and returning screws. Zoom and rotate the device rather than hunting at one fixed angle.

Cleaning brush

The brush handles manual dust and grime removal. Clean the parts named by the current job instead of polishing only the exterior.

Shop computer

The computer is operational equipment, not decoration. It connects you to email orders, the device marketplace, direct parts shopping, and later software-style work.

Confirmed progression tools

Professional screwdriver

Buying a professional screwdriver has its own achievement. It is a real equipment milestone, but the public requirement does not establish one mandatory purchase day or price.

Soldering iron

The released achievement list requires repairing a part with a soldering iron. Use it when the device task specifically exposes a supported soldering repair; it is not evidence that every circuit board can be manually diagnosed or resoldered.

Automatic ultrasonic bath

The automatic ultrasonic bath is a purchasable cleaning upgrade. It belongs to the cleaning workflow and signals a move away from handling every dirty component manually.

Shredder

The shredder handles broken parts. It supports a cleaner workshop and a more deliberate end-of-life path for components that are not worth storing.

Customization and software actions

Paint and airbrush work

Custom paint orders are part of the full progression. A job can ask for a device to be painted, and the workshop supports device customization beyond functional repair.

Stickers

Sticker milestones range from applying one sticker to applying 25 and 100. Treat sticker work as an optional customization track unless the customer request specifically requires it.

Reprogramming

Reprogramming is confirmed by achievements for one and 25 devices. It is a later action type, not a reason to claim a universal hacking solution for every device.

Choosing the next upgrade

Ask what is currently limiting completed paid work:

  • Too much manual cleaning? Consider the cleaning upgrade path.
  • Repeated screw-heavy work? The professional screwdriver may be the relevant milestone.
  • Broken components filling storage? Evaluate the shredder.
  • A customer asks for a supported board repair? Use the soldering path.
  • Custom orders are available? Paint and sticker tools support that work.
  • A software task appears? Follow the reprogramming objective rather than guessing at the interface.

Avoid these upgrade traps

  • Do not buy a tool because an achievement name sounds profitable.
  • Do not assume the most expensive upgrade is the next story requirement.
  • Do not spend the money reserved for bills on décor or optional tools.
  • Do not keep every broken part forever once the recycling path is available.
